Order packages were sent home last week that enable you to make your selection from 5 fabulous options sure to deliver smiles to everyone on your list. Choose from Purdy’s, Arbonne, Mabel’s Labels, Official 2010 Olympic Souvenir Programs, and, of course, our own Family Favourites cookbook. Plan out your shopping list…it will be easy this season!
Extra order forms can be found at the school office.

Message from Mr. Lorette, Principal – Nov. 6 / 09

As you can see by the size of this newsletter, it is a busy time for the Brackendale Elementary learning community. It was fun to begin family groups again last week. Students assembled in the gym and we used a “sorting hat” to draw different winter sport names for each group. This activity is unique to our school and provides students, k to 7, with an opportunity to meet in multi-aged groups for some fun cooperative activities every two or three weeks. We feel that this activity helps increase students sense of belonging in our school. On another topic, the flu has been on every one’s mind this past month.
A reminder that if your child is ill with a cough, a fever or other common flu symptoms, they should stay home and get better. Also, please reinforce, as we have, with your child that frequent hand washing is important. Finally, a big thank you to all our parent volunteers for your ongoing support. You really make a difference in our school!

Welcome Back Parents!

Another school year is upon us and with so many exciting activities starting in September, this letter is to remind you that your Parent Advisory Council (PAC) needs your help and we hope you will include the monthly meetings in your schedule.

We typically meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month in the school library.  Child minding is provided.  Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 21st at 7:00 pm and our first PAC event will be the Back to School BBQ held in conjunction with the Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, September 23rd.
